Coach's Biography
Jaime Arias’ father always said that education is the best legacy and inspired him to enter the university in Columbia. Despite of his obligations as a medical student at the university, Jaime never lost his passion for soccer and knew how to juggle between his books and his games.
Once he graduated from medical school, he had the opportunity to combine his two passions by working for two professional youth soccer leagues in his motherland and by volunteering in his community teaching and coaching soccer.
Dr. Jaime Arias then relocated to NYC in 1998 and became a passionate ambassador of teaching the game he loves so much. He has been a coach for Manhattan Soccer Club since, helping boys and girls to improve and develope their soccer skills. He was also the Varsity coach for Dalton’s boys soccer team and their director for summer programs.
Jaime has realized that sports, and soccer in particular, are a powerful educational tool. He is grateful of the role soccer played in helping himself to overcome some challenges in his youth and thus he co-founded five years ago a 501 c3 organization; THE WORLD SOCCER ORGANIZATION. Since then the WSO has been helping and inspiring less fortunate kids to stay in school and out of trouble, investing their free time learning and practicing this great sport of soccer. The WSO has partnerships with other Non-profit organizations: the Children’s Aid Society, Sports and Arts in School, US FUTSAL, plus more. It is also an honor for the WSO to hold the annual scholarship program endorsed by the legendary soccer player Pele.
